Ari Paper Proposal

For my paper I would like to examine how Children are using digital media and technology as a socializing network tool to meet and communicate with fellow peers. I would like to find out what are the implications of children spending so much time using these tools and what effect this is having on the development of their social skills. With so much time spent in front of a computer it will be interesting to see if children are developing social anxiety issues when interacting with peers in a face to face real world environment. In contrast these tools may be helping children to further their social skills by creating an online community where they can meet new people and feel comfortable being themselves. In order to conduct my research I will be drawing upon published articles/research and may conduct a survey using myspace or facebook.
