New Research Topic

So unfortunately, my first research idea did not prove to have enough resources to support my argument.

I've been nailing down a new idea and have found some very rich resources thus far: The digital book/e-book in education. I will be looking at the benefits of the e-book being brought into the world of education, as well as the arguments against it. Projects such as Google Books (a massive collection of digitized books available online, some for free, some you can buy - others you can view "snippets" of) endeavor to make huge amounts of titles available worldwide to students at the click of a button. Proponents argue that students can have access to out-of-print titles, rare titles, etc. that they may not have been able to find otherwise. There are also many articles stating that e-books can promote better learning with students with disabilities.

Some interesting arguments against e-book readers, such as the Kindle being used in the classroom state that online or e-book reading promotes "scanning" and that students are not fully digesting the material. Other cons are the cost of the initial e-book, to name a few.

Interesting video about Google Book project and some copyright issues...

I am open to any thoughts/possible resources for this topic. thanks!
